Modeling Reality With Virtual Worlds

Virtual Worlds can be used by playing and interacting in games or by interacting solely behind a computer or phone by being on some form of an app. Some pros of a virtual world include: easier access for communication, because it's easier online to find old friends and relatives or whatever you are searching for. Also its good because the speed of a search result is almost instantaneous and you can basically do most things without having to leave your house so it can be more time efficient. There have also been many reports that people who have great video gaming skills would turn out to be good surgeons because of their precision with their hand movements. However, while this may be good virtual worlds can also be bad. People can start becoming dependent on a computer or phone and wont know how to live without one. They also lose out on common social interactions and may not know how to handle real life situations. Everything done online can also create a loss of jobs for certain companies. Technology and a virtual reality has many pros and cons, and everyone has a different opinion on it. I think new technology is more helpful but I believe there should be a balance. It's basically like some people who only know how to use a calculator to do math and without one they don't know the basics because they became too reliant on that one particular thing. Yes it's so much easier to use one but there may be a circumstance in life where you can't use one whether it be pertaining to a job or test and then what does that person do? So thats my point, in life there must be a balance. Virtual worlds are fine but we shouldn't be solely dependent on them where they take up the majority of our time.
