A new type of media that doesnt currently exist is something difficult to think of. I currently cant think of a new form of media that can be created but im sure something new will come out within the next few years.

To contribute to the wiki I have edited and added in the Religion topic . I briefly spoke about the 3 most widely known and practiced religions. They are Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. I briefly described what their followers believe and practice.

P2P

File Sharing is where you can share things like software from computer to computer or device to device.

P2P  is "peer to peer" file sharing where you can share music, software, games, downloads, etc.. publicly from device to device.

Examples of P2P file sharing are
- bit torrent
- skype

privacy and confidentiality

How the issues of privacy and confidentiality are related to new media.


 On social media nothing is fully private. Once you post something practically anyone can see it. Privacy and confidentiality are big issues for some people but now everyone is constantly posting things that occur in their every day lives. They even post where they are or who their with. On social media posts can be spread like wild fire so if you really don't want people to know certain things then it should not be posted.

Advice

You are hired by the College to use new media to improve the College. What are some suggestions you would make using new media?

Some suggestions I would make to the school is that every classroom should be a smart classroom. Most professors like to use slideshows for their lectures. I'm currently in a class with 80 students and the projector does not work, nor do we have smart boards but only chalk boards. From the beginning we contacted the department to change the room but there was nothing they could do. It is very hard to see and it takes up a lot of time for the professor to constantly write out long math equations. Because of this I would also suggest that we upgrade any other technology that needs to be used. I think that the school could use new media to also market better and become a more interactive school which  would  make it fun and different.

Creativity and New Media

This is a picture I took of a regular fall day but I added a filter to it so it can look more professionally done. The filter was a creative way to take an ordinary picture and turn it into a beautiful one.

Creativity

Technology and New Media fosters creativity by giving everyone more options.  With all different forms of apps and media platforms around,  people can post and share things with others. Media allows step by step processes of how things are done, like how to knit a sweater or how make a fancy meal. You can also turn an ordinary picture into one worthy of framing by adding filters. You can even restore old music, make posters, etc... The spectrum of creativity is limitless all because we have the resources to do so at our fingertips.  New Media allows customization options to whatever we decide to share which gives us the opportunity to be more creative any time we want.
